The Katayami Anthias, Odontanthias Katayami is an extremely rare deep water anthias found in Asia. This species is most often collected in Japan and Taiwan, and is found at depths greater than 150m (490ft). This species requires cold water and will thrive in a cold water reef, (best in low 70s up to 74). This species can be acclimated to slightly higher temperatures over a long time.
